Fumel, après le silence

On June 4, 2018, the last machines at the Fumel plant in Lot-et-Garonne fell silent for good. This immense industrial site, after having been a mecca for French steel production, is about to disappear. Its debts, property taxes and polluted soil are too much for it to bear.... The last witnesses who made this place what it is are in mourning. But if the page is hard to turn, they now want to tell their story with this factory that irrigated their lives. Opposite them, elected representatives, associations, architects and artists are trying to imagine the aftermath. In this particular moment, how will they all come to grips with their memories, in order to imagine a new common history and thus reinvent the future of this post-industrial territory?
